What I've been up to lately...

...just finished all my school work yesterday. Tying up the loose ends before school reopens. Been trying to keep myself busy with all sorts of obligations as well (Open House, CGOverdrive)...
But no matter what, there's always time for things like these:

P.S.
Open house and CGOverdrive pictures will be uploaded soon.
...
I hope.

I'm feeling a little lazy here.
Somebody perk me up.

I'm sorry...

...but I guess I'm not loving you as much as I did before. You should have foreseen the fact that someday, someone better will come into my life.
...
She is just so perfect.
...
I'm sorry I have to be a jerk about it but the fact is, you're just a filler in my life before she comes along.
...
Please don't cry.
We're still friends, right?

It's really old news but...

... just thought I'd share it anyway:
Death note, drawn "Simpsons" style. Done by "Space Coyote".
She's now contracted by Matt Groening's company to do "The Simpsons" comic book.
Interesting blend.

Amidst all the workload...

I took some time out to sketch a side profile of my classmate's character for his reference.
Like the challenge of adopting to a different draw style. Did the entire piece in about 30 mins. Slow in my opinion, but it still felt good after I finished it:
I think I may need to work on that signature of mine

Conclusion: Never an easy task to adopt to someone's draw style and then draw a different perspective of it. I apparently still need tons of practice.

"Knowing" this may help...

... The movie "Knowing" seems badly received by most around me. Under normal circumstances, I would have skipped it in a heartbeat if not for the fact I had to write an analysis on it.

I won't spoil it for others but ... I personally felt it wasn't that bad a show. But for action-seekers, stay away from that show if you don't want to waste your money sleeping in the theater.
Genre-wise, it does what it should: Thrill.

Though a contradiction wasn't explained and the ending was incestuous in nature, it was kind of okay. And I definitely see that some Christians will "see what they want to see" and call it a heresy.

After several late nights...

... and multiple cockroach slayings (I wonder what's up lately. Seen and killed 3 cockroaches in 2 nights alone), I'm finally done with that film treatment draft.
Are they trying to tell me something or is there a cockroach den that I might have missed out?...
...
No matter, 3 more weeks to break. No time to lose.
More projects to plan today.
...
...
...
Let's just hope no cockroaches appear tonight. I'm sick and tired of battering them to gooey bits.

Type, type, type, smack. Rinse and repeat.

Finally some time for personal stuffs...

...good time for a run.
When I got back, I was basically panting like a dog.
Lay it off for 6 weeks and this is what I get.
Age sure is catching up. Maybe I should stop having that much kwey chap from now on.
...
...
Time was also spent on sprucing up my portfolio today.
...
Well, didn't exactly finish that concept art off in one go though. I need more references.
Will probably lay it off till tomorrow or something.

I call it: The China Town Demon

Why China Town?
If you refer to his posture; he looks like those uncles squatting around the streets of CT.
Will probably add bat wings or bird wings down his back and bring one of those wings to the front, covering his legs.

EDIT: Will probably get rid of those chest "tattoos" as well. Somewhat visually jarring.
...
...
...
...
Where did I get that posture from?...
...
It's a secret that dies with me.
All that's missing is a solid straw hat and some wrinkles. Maybe some less colorful pants too.
